Q: how do I adjust the seat on 1995 jeep wrangler?
hi, How do I adjust the back of my seat to recline or move up on my 1995 Jeep Wrangler? I just bought it yesterday, it didn't come with a manual and I don't want to buy one. Jeep's website will only go to 2004 jeeps with out having to buy a manual.

A: unless its an after market seat or if its broken... there would be a little bar in the front of the seat that runs horizontaly that you will pull up towards the roof to go toward the dash or backward. to recline there is about a 5-6 inch lever on the side of the seat that also nees pulled up toward the roof and then lean back. then to put it back do the same and just take your weight off the back of the seat =)

Q: How to repair a lower shoch mount on a 1995 Jeep Wrangler?
I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler and the rear left lower shock mount continues to crack and break. I've had it welded several times, but I don't think the weld is holding. Is there an after market clamp or something I install?

A: Sounds like your shocks are to long and they are bottoming out on the shock mount pushing the mount right off of the axel. Assuming of course the welds are good. If not reinforce the sides of the mount and weld again, and or I can sell you a new shock mount, or axel bracket kit...

Q: My 1995 jeep wrangler does not go into 4 wheel drive?
My 1995 Jeep Wrangler switches into 4WD but only the right rear tire spins. The front drive shaft spins which tells me that it may be the transfer case. If that were the case, shouldn't the left rear tire spin as well?? Any help? Anything I can do to test it? I sure would like to not spend $800 on a new transfer case! Thanks.

A: Your vehicle must be equipped with a locker, or limited slip to get BOTH rear tires to spin under power. It sounds like your wrangler has open differentials, in this case only spinning one rear tire is normal. Putting the Jeep in 4x4 will not get the other rear tire to spin. The same holds true with the front axle, only one tire on the front axle will spin under power in 4x4 mode ( unless you have a locker or limited slip). Because the front and rear drive shafts spin while under power, the problem is not related to the transfercase. If neither one of the front tires are driving while in 4x4, but the front driveshaft is spinning, you may have a front differential problem. Or.... The YJ Jeep Wranglers were equipped with a vacuum actuated Center Axle Disconnects (CAD). Its job is to engage the front axle when in 4x4 in engaged. These assembly's become very failure prone with age. They are easy to repair and replace, make sure to verify that it is receiving vacuum as the vacuum lines often go bad and leak. The CAD assembly is located on the back side of the front axle tube, just to the left of the pumpkin, when looking from the front.

Q: What is the largest engine that will fit in a 1995 Jeep Wrangler?
I have a '95 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 and im thinking about a swap whats the biggest engine that will fit and line up?

A: 4wd.com makes conversion kits to put a chevy 350 in your jeep. beware though, because its too much torque for stock axles and transmissions.

Q: 1995 jeep wrangler lift question?
I have a 4 cylinder 1995 Jeep Wrangler and I am currently looking to get the suspension lifted. Is this possible with a 4-cylinder or is it to weak to get it lifted?? Dont know much about this stuff so any input would be great-thanks for the help!

A: You can put a lift kit on a 4 cylinder, but with the kit plus the bigger tires you are going to run, you will notice a big change in performance and power, especially by it being a 4 cylinder. Also, you will see a big difference in gas milage. I personally would not go over 3" inches of lift or 32x11.50 tires. The higher you go, means the bigger the tires, which means the more power you will lose. Hope this helps.

Q: What is the towing capacity of a 1995 jeep wrangler?
On the standard S version, how much can the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder model pull?

A: Gross trailer weight braked - 2000 lbs Gross trailer weight unbraked - 1000 lbs Both engines are rated the same. Happy Trails!

Q: Would you let a 16 year old drive a 1995 Jeep wrangler?
My family has a 95 wrangler and I will be driving soon. Do you think it would be safe for a new driver to drive a car with no roof, no airbags, and a stickshift?

A: A new driver ought to be able to drive as well as any driver. If you are careful and obey laws it should be o.k. But first you have to learn 'stick'! I always wanted a Jeep CJ5 or CJ7 but they aren't around anymore. Go have the fun I would have had.

Q: I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler and was wondering what is the factory rim size?
I think it is 15X7 and if I go with an American racing ventura rim that is a 15x8 will it fit without any scrubbing, and how much will it stick out. I have no lift kit on the jeep.

A: Your Jeep originally came with a 15x7 wheel from the factory. The 15x8 wheel will fit as long as the backspacing is correct. 3.75 inches should fit without much trouble. You may have to adjust your steering stops to keep the tires from rubbing on the springs at full lock. They will stick out of the fenders a little.

Q: Where can I buy a replacement dash for a 1995 Jeep Wrangler?
I've looked throughout the internet and I can't find a dash for my Jeep. I just don't like the color but I don't want to spray paint it. I want a completely new dash set in black. ***I do NOT want a Dash COVER - Thanks for your help...

A: I don't think that a black dash was offered with that year, so finding one may be next to impossible. You can ask the dealer, but usually they came in spice and gray. Painting is most likely your best bet. Krylon makes a paint for plastic that works very good.

Q: Where can I find drilling instructions for installing Steel Horse side steps on a 1995 jeep wrangler?
Was given steps w/o directions. Looking for a link to step by step directions. Have been unable to locate on jcwhitney or quadratec.

A: Steel Horse had a horrible reputation for shoddy workmanship. It was well earned. They went quietly out of business sometime in the early 2000's, which is why you cannot find installation instructions. Their steel side steps (black or chrome) were extremely prone to rusting and tended to bend under weight exceeding 200-ish pounds. Their aluminum steps would shatter at the slightest offroad bump. For every (and I do mean, EVERY) product they put their name on, I read of, heard about, and witnessed failure. If somebody gave me a free set of Steel Horse side steps, I would not drill holes in my Jeep for them. I'd sell them on ebay and take whatever I could get, then apply that to the purchase of something of better quality. If after my diatribe, you are still thinking you'd like to install them, I did find an ebay seller that has some. His item link is below. You might try emailing him and asking if he has an extra set of instructions. BTW, he claims on his auction, "In the 17 years in the Jeep business these much [sic] be the most beautiful and my personal favorite steps" Believe me, I've been active amongst Jeepers for 10 years, and these are not a quality product. He's trying hard to overcome the stigma and unload his inventory. If he is not able to come through with instructions, my next recommendation is to log on to JeepForum. It's free to join, and you will likely find someone on there with a set of instructions or able to write up how they did it. If you end up with nothing but dead ends, email offline. I'll ask you for a picture of the steps and a few measurements, and I'll be able to offer a few suggestions for how to install them (I am an engineer with extensive mechanical and design background, and I've designed and installed quite a few items on my own Jeeps, and I am always looking to help a fellow Jeep owner).

Q: Rattling from the undercarriage of 1995 jeep wrangler. Anyone know what could cause this?
Happens at lower RPM's. the noise comes from the right side, towards center of vehicle. Looks like its coming from the muffler.

A: Is your muffler loose?

Q: how do you connect the rear washer fluid hose in a 1995 Jeep Wrangler?
I have a hard top Jeep. When the seasons changed and it was time to switch back to the hard top I was unable to connect the hose that delivers the washer fluid to the rear window.

A: The hose for the washer fluid connects to the hard top on the drivers side of the top at the back. Right next to it should be the electrical connector to make the wiper arm move

Q: does anyone know the horsepower on a 1995 jeep wrangler with a 2.5 liter 4 cyl?
