Q: Jeep Wrangler?
I'm looking into buying a Jeep Wrangler and was wondering if i could have some feedback from previous owners?
A: I love mine but I wouldn't own it if I was going to use the back seat for people or kids (unless you get a new 2007 model.. which are a lot bigger). Mine is a second vehicle and it is a lot of fun. There is a lot of wind noise if you use the soft top on the highways. They are great in the snow and great for the summer with the top off.... however, you cannot get the softtop up very fast. You could do what I did and buy a regular vehicle and a used jeep for fun. I watched and found a pretty decent deal for a 1998. It has 125,000 miles but a good used one will last for two or three hundred thousand miles. They are east to replace body parts and things so if one has a busted body part you can get it cheaper and if you are handy at all you can change the body parts (fenders, bumpers, mirrors, etc.)
Q: What is the difference between a Jeep CJ7 and a Jeep Wrangler?
I am looking for a used Jeep Wrangler and my dad's friend says he as a Jeep CJ7 for sale. I looked online and the CJ7 looks exactly like a Wrangler to me. Is there a difference or is it the same thing or what? Please help.
A: cj/7 s are older , there are alot of things that make them different, l;ike the size of them , where the turn lights are, the boxyness of the body, im not sure but i dont think they ever put fuel injection on the cj's but dont qoute me on that, the tailgates are different, im trying to put a cj/7 tailgate on my yj, up until 97 the wrangler had square headlights, just alot of stuff like that, go with a wrangler, unless you arent to picky about the ride comfort. everyone knows jeeps arent the most comfortable ride but the cj's are alot worse then the wrangler.
Q: Will a Jeep Wrangler front seat fit into a 1997 Jeep Cherokee?
I have a 1997 Jeep Cherokee with a broken driver's side front seat. I cannot find a replacement. What I do find is plenty of Jeep Wrangler replacement seats for the same year. Will the Wrangler seat fit my 1997 Jeep Cherokee?
A: I doubt it. The wrangler seats are different if i remember correctly. The Cherokee is more a people person car while the wrangler is supposed to be for off roading. I think the wrangler seat is different.
If all else fails just walk into the repair dept. at the jeep Chrysler dealer and ask...

Q: 1988 Jeep Wrangler shuts down when key is released from start position?
I have an 88 Jeep Wrangler. When the key is turned into the start position the engine will start. As soon as the key is released into the on position the engine will shut down. Electrical power is still available. It will stay running as long as the key remains in the start position. Could this be the ignition module?
I have tried swapping the ignition on the steering column with no luck. Is there another ignition switch in the system?
A: Turn ign to on. Check with test light for power at the ign switch terminal that feeds ignition. Sounds as if no power getting to ignition system.
Q: How much is insurance on a jeep wrangler for a male beginning driver?
Is anyone a male driver around 16 who drives a jeep wrangler and knows how much on average the insurance will be?
A: well is depends on your credit scrore. and the model , year , style of the jeep that you're gonna drive on . call around the insurance company and ask for a quote .. they will be happy to give it to you . i would recommend that you should go under your parent policy. being a new driver is so expensive to get insurance . almost cost you a monthly car payment . my guess is around $130 and up per month just for liability only . good luck
Q: What transmission is better for a Jeep Wrangler, Automatic or Manual?
I see hardcore offroad Jeeps (big lift, big tires, etc.) that have automatin transmissions, but all I here from my friends is that a manual transmission is way better. Can someone please help me or give me some insight on the pros and cons of these two transmissions for the Jeep Wrangler.
A: I have a 1989 Wrangler with an auto and a 2001 with a manual,I like the auto when 4wheelin.When 4wheelin with an auto you can focus more on the road and you don't lose any momentum when shifting.I like the manual for driving around town,I know that this is different from most other people so I guess it is just a personal choice.
Q: What does a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited cost in the Philipppines?
Hi all!
I currently live in the US and I own a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I plan to move to the Philippines in a year or two and would love to bring it with me. However, from my research, I've found that shipping and 100% tariffs would make this impossible. :(
So, how much money (in PhP or US$) would it take to buy a new one in the Philippines? Or, could you suggest a good substitute 4X4?
Thanks!
A: you might get an idea from this site. it has secondhand ones for sale. one good thing is that gas is cheap .a negative is that genuine parts are hard to come by. the value of the doller against the peso has virtually halved in recent years.............hope it comes back up by the time u travel...................mostly people in the phillipines drive second hand japanese imports..........even similar models to the jeep 4x4 . there isa good supply of parts. probably ur best option would be to sell ur jeep and condider buyinga toyota or mitsubishi when u arrive. they really do last.

Q: Is it legal to put the windshield down on a jeep wrangler in ohio?
I own a 1994 Jeep wrangler and the police dont seem to know off hand. I just want to know if its legal to put the windshield down on a jeep wrangler? If anyone has had any first hand experience with this it would be helpful.
A: The windshield is required to be present but doesn't have to be used if you have some kind of full eye protection.
Q: How many gallons of gas does a Jeep Wrangler take?
I am thinking of buying a jeep wrangler for my daughter but someone said they're big guzzlers. How many gallons of gas does the tank take? Thanks.
A: my '06 Wrangler has a 19.5 gallon tank. I get roughly 190 miles out of that before I'm literally running on fumes. My Jeep is highly modified for offroad usage though... A stock Wrangler should get about 14 miles per gallon...so figure on 250-280 miles per tank...with a tank of gas costing $66-90, depending on what part of the country you live in.
Not a gas saver by any means. And as far as a "first car" for a teenager...not a safe choice either. Lets face it - teens aren't the most careful drivers... Wranglers are prone to flipping over if driven carelessly. Add to that the fact that they have soft tops, which your teen driver is going to want to lower (cuz its cool) and you basically have a vehicle that is a slingshot for anyone not wearing a seatbelt.
If you want a fuel efficient, safe first vehicle - a Wrangler is not for you. If you want a fun vehicle that you can really enjoy regardless of fuel cost and you are a safe and responsible driver - Wranglers are at the top of the list.
Good Luck.
Q: Where can I find a Jeep Wrangler window?
I need a rear window for a soft top,1998 Jeep Wrangler. I don't care if it's used and a little beat up because someone cut mine open. I don't have a lot of money to spend.
A: try a local junk/salvage yard
Q: how to remove a jack from jeep wrangler rubicon?
I have a jeep wrangler rubicon. How do I remove the tire jack from the back compartment?
A: Wow - I am currently researching how to remove the jack from my Wrangler SE. The directions seem easy until you look at the jack. I have spent almost a full day trying to figure out how to remove it so I can change a tire. Let me know if anyone knows how to do this. I called the dealer and they didn't know. They said they never have to use jacks since they have lifts. They were NO help.
Q: How do you install windows in a jeep wrangler hardtop?
I have a 1997 jeep wrangler. I purchased a hardtop that needs windows installed in it. I have purchased used windows. How do you install the windows in this hardtop?
A: Short answer: I recommend taking it to an auto glass shop or a Jeep dealership. If you have the glass already, the installation should be fairly inexpensive.
The procedure is covered in detail in the factory service manual (a very good investment for any do-it-yourself Jeep owner, and not too expensive on ebay). Glass installation is not trivial. I'll try to condense the instructions here:
1. Trim the urethane from the opening, leaving a 3mm level base. Place glass in the opening and make sure it fits and seats against the level urethane. Make alignment marks with a grease pencil
2. Remove the glass to a workbench, lay flat, inside-up.
3. Clean the glass with ammonia-based glass cleaner, then clean outer edge of glass with naphtha
4. Apply molding to perimeter of glass with butt-weld in the molding at the bottom center of the glass.
5. Apply "glass prep" adhesion promotor 1" wide around perimeter of glass, wipe with lint-free cloth until no streaks.
6. Apply "glass primer" 1" wide around perimeter of glass. Allow 3 minutes or more drying time
7. Apply "pinchweld" primer 3/4" wide around the quarter glass fence (on the hard top). Allow 3 minutes or more drying time
8. Apply a 0.4" diameter bead of urethane to the center of the quarter glass fence surface area. (I quoted this instruction directly). Go to step 9 immediately - you only 10-15 minutes before the urethane starts to cure.
9. Align the glass with the grease pencil marks and push inward "until the reveal molding is seated on the hardtop." Don't push so hard that too much adhesive squeezes out.
10. Open windows and liftgate while urethane cures to avoid pressure buildup. Apply 2" masking tape strips every 10". After urethane cures, remove tape strips and water-test.
Q: What engines will fit as a replacement engine for a 1999 jeep wrangler?
My coworkers 1999 Jeep Wranglers engine blew and she wants to replace the engine. It currently has a 2.5 engine. Is it only replacable with a jeep wrangler 2.5 engine. Would any chrysler 2.5 engine fit or from a cherokee. any other engines? it would need to fit without a crazy amount of modification. ive heard jeep motor mounts are very specific and only lineup with specific engines please let me know if you know anything thanks
A: You should be able to fit any one of the engines that came in the car that year in the car with the correct cross bar and motor mounts. These engines include: 2.5 L AMC 150 I4, 4.0 L AMC 242 I6. As you can expect the 2.5 L would be the easiest install. You may be able to fing the motor mounts you need at a local junk yard. Installing any new engine would be difficult. The only wory I have is you might run into problems with the accesories.
Q: Where do you rest your foot when off the clutchon Jeep Wrangler?
I have a 88 Jeep Wrangler that has no place to rest your left foot when not on the clutch. Since I am new to learning manual, I was wondering what other Jeepers do? I don't want to rest it on the clutch and burn it out. Any suggestions for newbie? Thanks.
A: i have a 78 cj5 and tilt my foot to the left and rest it against the parking brake but most people would either pull the foot back to where its flat on the floor(closest to the seat) or against the firewall (the further away from you). just find a spot that you feel good with
