Q: How much did you pay for your new 2008 jeep patriot?
Please list what options you had too: 4x4, heated seats, what package, towing, leather, etc.

A: Sport, CVT, 4x2, 26E package and Jeep Green was extra cost, with DMV fees I walked away at a little less than $20,000. I think it was $19,820

Q: Why is the Oil Change light indicator going off at 2500 miles on my 2008 Jeep Patriot?
I know your normally supposed to change it at 3000 miles but why is it going off now?

A: Mine did it also. This was just mentioned at jeeppatriot.com forum. It's not a problem with your Patriot. I drove mine for about a week after mine went off and I went and made an appointment and got mine changed. I don't think it would hurt to go ahead and have it changed right now. I decided to drive it until it got closer to 3000. It's nice to have it, but annoying when you start up and hear the bing. If you don't belong to the forum you should check it out. Your not the only one who's gone off, I had a 03 Olds that went off when it was time to change its oil.

Q: 2008 jeep patriot accessories?
How can I get power locks and windows installed in my 2008 Jeep Patriot. I thought having manual everything would be ok but it is not. I can not find this information anywhere. Anyone that can help!!!! greatly appreciated.

A: One) you could go to Jeeppatriot.com and ask the big group of owners there OR Two) contact your dealership and find out how much it'll cost for parts and installation. Another thing is to try and find some auto body shops and see if they can get parts and how much to install. There are some sites out there also try http://www.jcwhitney.com/Jeep-Patriot-Parts/200732584-10101.jcw http://www.autotrucktoys.com/jeep_patriot/directory.aspx mopar.com and see if there are any parts there.

Q: How do you calculate the taxes owed on a 2008 Jeep Patriot, in Spartanburg SC?

A: just guestamate about 10% of the value of the car , and you should be there

Q: My 2008 Jeep Patriot with a CVT "transmission" drops from "6th gear" to "1st gear" while the car is moving!
The dealer cannot emulate the problem since it occurs randomly. Sounds like a computer problem to me, but the dealer won't do anything. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Do I have recourse with Chrysler/ Thanks!! ferdya

A: Document all service visits, and continue to go in as many times as it takes, also plan to leave the vehicle with them, record the mileage and force them to address the problem. Eventually they will have to give you a better explanation of the issue. If all else fails you have the right to arbitration, check your paperwork from purchase, sometimes info is found in the owners manual , last chapter, LOL or in a separate booklet w/ the owners manual.

Q: 2008 Jeep Patriot...?
Hello! Last week I was in a car crash, not caused by me in any way, and I lost my 96 Grand Cherokee. The other driver, in a sedan, died and left my Jeep totaled and me injured. However, I walked away from the accident and I have been told that its only because I had the car I did. Which is why I am getting another Jeep. I was just wondering if you could tell me your experiences with the 2008 Patriots. Thanks!! Please be nice--I know all the details about the mpg and everything. This is the ONLY Jeep/car I am considering as well, so trying to persuade me would be useless. PS. I am a 17 year old girl. And a very responsible driver. My parents are the ones who are backing me 100% in my decision to get another Jeep and I am going to be paying for it myself. Thanks for the help.

A: The Jeep Patriot has even more safety features than your 96 Grand Cherokee did. It is an excellent choice! I am very sorry to hear about the crash and death of the other driver and glad it wasn't your fault.

Q: will the 2008 jeep patriot have an available v6 engine??
and cant decide between the 2008 mercury mariner hybrid or the 2007 jeep patriot, which one is better??? can someone please help me out. thanks

A: No... no V6, though the I4 it does have has 172hp, so match that up with some of the small V6's Possibly, the 2.0 CRD will be available here in the states, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that either. If you feel the need to go hybrid, then go for the Merc. If you want real off-road ability, go Jeep... The 2wd Patriot also gets better mileage than the non-hybrid Mariner.. if MPG is your driving factor..

Q: I have a 2008 Jeep Patriot it has 5 lug factory rims, I want different rims can I get any 5 lug rims?

A: no you need the correct wheel stud spacing you also have to be aware of offset check the tire rack site for more info

Q: How do I reset my Tire Pressure Monitor on my 2008 Jeep Patriot?
I just recently purchased a 2008 Jeep Patriot in July and my tire pressure alarm has just started showing up on my dash. I checked all of my tires, including my spare, since the manual said it also checks my spare and nothing is under-inflated and would not be over inflated since I haven't put air in them since I bought the vehicle. The only thing I can think of is that the past two nights the temperature has dropped below 40 degrees and this alarm has only been going off for two days now. The alarm will shut off in the afternoon when I get out of work. How can I reset this system so that I don't have to deal with it every time it gets below 40 degrees out?

A: ON this vehicle check your tire pressure when it is cold and adjust to the door for required tire pressure. Leave the key in the on position or when the vehicle is running while you adjust. You will see this light come on allot when the temp drops like this or you may need to have your tires checked for a leak. Hope this helps.

Q: 2008 Jeep Patriot vs. Compass in icy weather?
Which SUV handles better in icy conditions? Is there a difference with there ESP and Traction Control performance?

A: They are both exactly the same car mechanically unless you get a trail rated Patriot, they have a better 4wd system, but unless you plan on taking it off road, it won't matter.

Q: When does the 2008 Jeep Patriot come out?

A: New models typically come out the preceding summer of the model's years (i.e. a 2008 model would come out the summer of 2007)

Q: I may be buying a 2008 Jeep Patriot today...?
... Do you have any last minute advice to give me about it as I decide whether or not to pull the trigger on getting it? What do you think about this vehicle? Pros, Cons? Thanks in advance! Nah, not getting that $2.99 gas thing, instead they gave me $2500 in rebates. It was one or the other, they said.

A: Lucky you, you get guarunteed 2.99 gas for 3 years!!!

Q: What do you think about 2008 Jeep Patriots?
I may be buying one today and wanted to see what last minute advice I could get about it. What do you think about this vehicle? Pros, Cons? Thanks in advance! Wow, everyone here seems pretty negative about it.

A: Pros: It is a nice car with a good price. Gas is good for a SUV. You can add many options if you are willing too pay. Cons: Jeeps tend to break down quick.

Q: Anybody have a 2008 Jeep Patriot?
Thinking about test-driving one soon. Have read a few reviews so far and haven't heard anything bad. Does anybody out there have one or know somebody with one? How do you /they like it? Is your/their mileage around 27mpg? Pros? Cons? Just wanted to hear some feedback, if any. Thanks

A: I have a 2008, I ordered it, I've had it since Mid August. I love it more and more every day. I have a 4x2 Sport 2.4L CVT. I'm averaging about 25-26 highway mileage. I have over 5000 on it. I can not complain about it. I like the way it handles in the rain and high winds. We had some ice a few weeks ago and did just fine. I can't find any cons with mine. There is a forum for the patriot. jeeppatriot.com. It's got lots of information. If you want to ask other owners go there and check it out also. The CVT was a little wierd at first but I got use to it in about a week and a half.

Q: any changes coming for the 2008 jeep patriot?

A: From what I understand is there are some things now on the 2008 that are standard. As where the 2007 it was optional. I understand there's not a whole lot of changes. I have one on order. 2007 got bumped to a 2008. There are two new colors for the patriot. sunburst orange and a new blue color. If you don't already belong or have checked it out I suggest www.jeeppatriot.com. There is a thread there that talks about the 2008's and what is new with the patriot and what's now standard.
