Q: Are there webistes i can go to find price quotes to put a sun roof in a 2005 jeep liberty?
i just bought a used jeep liberty (2005)
and the only thing that im really missing from my old vehicle is the sun roof...ive tried to find quotes online but i seem to just keep getting lost at webisites that arent relivant
help please!!!
A: when i bought my 2005 jeep liberty back in january, i went thru the same thing you are. i missed the sunroof from my car i had.
i would say if you bought it from a dearlship go back to that dealership and ask them where you can get one installed at. i did that and i have a few places that they gave me. so i'm just waiting to get some extra cash before i go.
Q: How can I turn off the "lowash" warning in my 2005 Jeep Liberty?
the "lowash" warning in my 2005 Jeep Liberty remains on after I refill the washer fluid. What can I do?
A: on the tank you put fluid in there should be a level sensor. you may just have to unplug it to make it go off or replace that sensor. it shouldn't be to expensive. (you might remove the sensor and find out it's only stuck and might be repairable.good luck
Q: How much should it cost to do front brakes on a 2005 Jeep Liberty at the dealership?
My car is at the dealership today and they're telling me that it's going to cost $310 for front brakes. I don't remember it being this much with my previous Jeep (Grand Cherokee). Am I being taken advantage of because I'm female and don't know any better?
Note that this is for brakes and rotors - not just pads.
A: probably, you should only need pads and MAYBE rotors. they could probably resurface the rotors for $10 a pop. they shouldnt need calipers, so if thats in there, get a second opinion.
i got pads and rotors (90% of brake problems) all new and installed for $500 for all 4 total.
300 for the front is too much. you should take a knowledgeable male friend in with you to have them explain the charges.
good luck.
Q: what does type 43 displaying on the dashboard of my 2005 jeep liberty mean?
2005 3.7litre jeep liberty
A: Type 43 is the designation (part of the model/part number) for the instrument cluster in your vehicle. If the lettering appears to be illuminated, it may be caused by reflection or light bleeding through.
Q: I want to sell my 2005 Jeep Liberty but it has some body damage?
My DH just took a lower paying job, and I still want to stay at home with the kids for 3 more years so I need to sell my Jeep. Has anyone ever used carmax before? And also am I going to take a huge loss because of the the fender damage, done by DBI-L.
A: Sorry to hear about your Deer Husband, you should get an estimate for the repairs so you will know how much less to accept for your Jeep.
Q: How do you replace a break light on a 2005 jeep liberty?
im a chick so simplify this procedure please- but yeah my break light is out and i want to fix it before i get a ticket. its on the left side, so whats the procedure?
A: I haven't done a Liberty before but it's probably like most SUV's. If you look at the taillight with the back hatch/door up you should see all the screws that hold the taillight in place. They might be regular phillip head screw or torx head (star looking pattern). Once it is unscrewed take out the bad bulb. If you do not know just turn on the lights to see which one it is. To remove the bulb just twist the plug counter clockwise and pull the bulb out put the new one in. Make sure your hands are clean and try not to touch the bulb itself as any grease can make the bulb warp and expand out, possibly going out again or damaging the taillight. This is especially true for headlights. As long as you're careful I wouldn't worry about it.
Q: Is there a direct connect for an mp3 player in a 2005 Jeep Liberty?
The stereo is the standard, no upgrades, and nothing ever done to it.
A: There's a Mopar iPod accessory kit available at your dealer. It will let you control and charge the iPod while it's connected.
If you're not using an iPod, the same accessory kit can also be used to connect anything that uses a standard 3.5mm stereo minijack. (Which would be pretty much anything portable with a headphone jack.)
Q: Where can I get chrome side moldings for my 2005 Jeep Liberty?
The limited liberty's have chrome side moldings. I have the sport model.
I'm not looking for rocker panels but the molding that the Limited Liberty has on the side.
A: Contact your nearest Jeep dealership. They can get you anything you want for the little Jeep.
While your at it. Add the light bar on the top. Makes the Liberty look much better and not like a "Girlie Jeep". I love all Jeep models and my wife drives her liberty all over. But, I won't drive it. I prefer my 1981 Wagoneer Custom, or my CJ's.
Q: Does anyone know the transmission fluid capacity of a 2005 jeep liberty renegade?
THE TRANSMISSION IN IT IS THE NEWER 42RLE CHRYSLER TRANSMISSION. ALSO CAN YOU POINT ME IN THE DIRECTION OF A WEBSITE WERE I CAN FIND THIS INFORMATION OUT.
THE ENGINE IS THE 3.7 AND IT IS A 4X4 IF THAT HELPS.
A: find a jeep forum, i don't know the capacity but i know it is ATF+4 and it's expensive.
Q: I drive a 2005 Jeep Liberty, and the inside of my car, fogs and condenses water. What do i do?
I've noticed that ever since i've bought the vehicle, i can randomly look outside and see that the windows have fogged, and it hadn't been driven for two days. Also, the inside fogs really easy when driving down the road. But the other day, i was coming out of school, around 3 and it had done it again. Except when i got inside it looked as if water was on my windshield, so i turned on my wipers, my windshield was dry. I came to find out that the whole inside of my windshield was covered in water droplets, i have no clue what happened, so i had to get napkins and dry it off so that i could see out. What is wrong, and how do i fix it?? Should i ask the guys at the mechanic place? I don't know what to do.
A: I own a 2006 Liberty Limited CRD.
It does not make a huge difference but may help to know the area wherein you live- high humidity will condense on a windshield that has had the a/c run thru the defroster sometimes, but that does not seem to be your real issue.
If you are loosing coolant in the radiator but it is not puddling on the ground then you may have a leaking heater core/hose. Is there a smell of anti-freeze? That too is a tell-tell sign of a heater core/hose leak. If it is the heater core condensation will also get worse with the defrost "on" as it is then that coolant circulates through it- at least on most cars.
Condensation occurs on glass when the ambient temp on one side of the glass drops lower than the ambient temp on the other side, thus causing condensation of water droplets on the windshield. A glass of ice water or ice tea is a good example of condensation. The temp inside is cooler than the temp outside thus water condenses on the outside.
You may run a water hose over the windshield to test for a visible leak or use a car wash with pressurized water and see what happens there. A body shop or glass shop should cost less than a regualr shop for repairs if there is no warranty. Ask for a policy adjustment or "good will" availability if just beyond warranty, like 38K-39K miles or 37-38 months, you should get it. Typically a "leaking" windshield or door seal will not fully or nearly cover the entire windshield, rather it will leave tracks; condensation will usually fully cover the windshield.
Since it is a 2005 if the mileage is less than 36K it came with a 3yr/36K bumper to bumper warranty, take it back to the dealer for a check-over. Be kind to the dealer service writer, he did not build the Jeep, Jeep did. He is there to assist you not cheat you. Kindness will get you further. I got warranty on my S80 T6 Volvo after it ran out of warranty because of the service writer going to the service manager and my kind words to him, blaming rightly the auto maker, not the serivce provider.
Good luck!
Q: Does the 2005 jeep liberty have a transferable warranty ?
Im just wondering if the powertrain warranty is still in affect since its a 7 year-70,000mile warranty ? I am not the origional owner. Is the warranty transferable?????
A: You can only get the 7-70 transferred if you are the second owner and chrysler says its transferable, go to dealer and have a function 70 check done on it, it will tell you if the rest of the warranty is transferable.
Good Luck
Q: How many quarts of engine oil would a 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade take?
The engine is 3.7L.
A: 5.5 quarts.
Q: How do you back flush a heater core? My 2005 Jeep Liberty's heater blows hot and cold air intermittently.?
A: Its not your heater core, big guy.
There is a vacuum "actuator" moves a flap (like a damper in a fireplace) to the heat Position and the cooling position.
You have a vacuum leak and when your motor slows the flap will move to the heat position because it has a spring that holds it there till the cool is engaged and vacuum is needed.
There is a small 1/8 inch hose going into a round silver thing and the hose will plug into the center of that vacuum actuator.
Clip off about a 1/8 th inch and replace it, if the problem continues trace where the hose goes and on the other end do the same thing, or for about a $1 you can purchase a new length of hose and replace it.
With the car parked run the car till its working properly then start pumping the brakes (there are vacuum assisted) using the vacuum up....the vents will blow warmer air.
Then the check valve on the brake booster could be dirty, wash it out with a little WD-40 or gas and replace.
Then there are the hoses to the manifold, check them for leaks.....
All that will will take 30 minutes or so, but check it out, if the actuator wasn't working it would blow hot all the time.
Then on the hose that brings hot water to the dash, there is a mechanical valve with a vacuum hose going to it (or lever).
Place your hands each about 6 inches on each side of that valve if the hose has equally hot, but you will probaly detect a slight difference in heat.....the valve is partly open or restricted .....
This is a valve that closes when hot water is not needed.
If you have set it on Heat and there is no Heat...that is your problem on a jeep, you can take it out and clean it, or replace it or do what most people do and take it out and replace it with a piece of pipe to slip in each of the hoses to make a full flow and good connection. and that will solve that.
