Q: how much should i pay for 2006 acura MDX touring and how much should i pay for a 2006 jeep commander limited?
i like both cars... but im not sure which one to get and how much to pay for.. i dont want to go the dealer and pay too much for it.. for the 2006 MDX touring i have a offer of 34g and for the JEEP i have a offer of 35g ... which one is a bettter deal and do u think i can get a better price on it?

A: Get the Acura, the Jeep really has nothing at all going for it except a Hemi that sucks gas to the tune of 12mpg. The dealer probably is willing to work on the price of the 06 Acura as the 07 is a redesign. So 34k for an Acura seems good. The Acura is also regarded as a premium SUV and the Jeep is basically the box the Cherokee came in. The Acura will also hold it's value a good deal longer and will actually take a curve without feeling like it will tip over. Acura's also have excellent reliability ratings, and if past vehicles are determing factors, the Jeep will be nothing special.

Q: What is the best price for a fully loaded 2006 Jeep Commander?
For best price I mean how low I can bargain with the dealership to get the best deal.

A: http://www.edmunds.com/

Q: 2006 Jeep Commander Rear Tail light and Panel Damage?
I backed up into a pole and damaged the Tail Light and panel underneath. My Question is, how do I find out the name of the panel part, as I do not think I need to replace the whole panel . How do I find a detailed diagram with the names of the parts. I need this to find out a price , if I only knew the name of the part This is the drivers side. This is the part right beneath the tail light on the drivers side just next to the bumper (left side)

A: just type 2006 jeep commander\ tail light into your search bar. And there will be a couple hundred things pop up about your jeep.

Q: I have a 2006 Jeep Commander & having multiple problems! I am the only one?
We bought our Jeep Commander new in Nov. 2005. It now has 14000 + miles on it. It has a rough idle problem (while sitting still it acts like it is going to die). It stalls after hitting a small pothole or road changes. The power outlets have quit working, etc...etc... Everytime I take it to the dealer they act like they have never seen this & tell me there are no recalls & the Jeeps computer is not showing in problems. But when a new car dies or stalls in traffic it is scary & very dangerous. Worried about the safety of my childern!! HELP!

A: I'll make a guess and say you are in the USA ? You folks have a nice law with regards to Motor Cars , I know it as the " Lemon Law " but it probably has another " Real " name . Next time you return to the Dealer remind them of that & also call Chrysler Customer service and Voice your Problems LOUD & CLEAR so they understand you " MEAN BUSINESS" Good Luck .

Q: 2006 Jeep Commander OR 2006 Dodge Durango?
I'm gonna be buying one of these two SUVs within a couple of months...and I'm COMPLETELY torn between them. One has a much more appealing design to me (Jeep) and one is much more useful with cargo, etc. (Dodge). Both will have the 5.7L Hemi and the Limited package group. If you were GIVEN one of these two vehicles...which would you want?

A: Compare EVERYTHING between the 2 vehicles side-by-side. Look at available options, gas mileage, safety ratings, professional reviews on the vehicle (say for example by Edmunds.com), consumer reviews (reviews by those who have driven/owned these 2 vehicles), long-term reliability, on/off road capability, towing capability... and on ... and on ... and on ... and on.... even including which one has better resale value down the road. See which one stacks up in the end. It should help you make up your mind. It's still going to be somewhat of an 'emotional' decision too... a vehicle might be the greatest vehicle in the world but if it doesn't 'do it' for you... then who cares? Make sure that which ever one you pick 'does it' for you. Good luck.

Q: 2006 jeep commander any one having problems w/ rough idle/stall?
was running rough, check eng. light, dealer replaced #3 intake valve due to burnt valve. no reason given as to why this happened. got veh. back after repair and is starting to run rough, idle rough, surge, etc. during extended driving. could this be related to exhaust build up in eng. due to faulty cat. convertor? has 35,602 miles on it

A: jeep has been having a problem with this. i take it u have a 4.7L or a 3.7L. when the when to fix this problem they should of replaced all the valves (intake and exhaust). theres a tsb on this and the dealer can look it up. even if you paid for the service they will fix it for free cuz it wasn't fixed the first time. take it back to the them and tell the to read the tsb and fix it right.

Q: Where is the IAT sensor on my 2006 Jeep Commander?

A: You've got a brand new truch and having problems already? You should be able to get this repaired under warranty. The sensor should be located somewhere on the intake plenum, as IAT stands for Intake Air Temperature Sensor

Q: program garage door opener in 2006 jeep commander?

A: It's in your owners manual. It's like your door opener. They're pretty simple instructions. It's called homelink.

Q: what rims will fit my jeep commander?
I have a 2006 Jeep Commander and I want to put some inexpensive 15" or 16" wheels on it for the winter time. Does anybody know what would fit it? I already know that some years Grand Cherokee wheels will fit but they are to expensive. I would prefer steel wheels. Thanks

A: I'd call or go to http://www.tirerack.com

Q: does anyone own a 2006 jeep commander?

A: No, They are junk, I wouldnt be foolish enough to buy one

Q: 2006 Jeep Commander 4x4 Question...?
i bought this about 4 days ago, but does this mean it is all wheel drive or there is a button I am missing somewhere. My old SUV said it was all wheel drive not 4x4... confused... Please help.

A: Basically, it's a marketing designation. You have four wheels. Two are always powered. The other two can be: . full time powered .part time powered ... automatically engaged ... manually engaged ...... manually engaged via lever or button in the cab ...... manually engaged my locking the hubs at the wheels All wheel drive may or may not mean full time four wheel drive. One manufacturer may say "all wheel drive", another may say "full time four wheel drive", another yet may say "automatic four wheel drive". It's confusing and it is designed to make you think their product is better. Your owner's manual will give you the details you need.

Q: 2006 Jeep Commander Limited...??

Is that way too cheap that it would mean something is wrong with it?? Is this even a good car? Thanks to answers!

A: First go and run it's history. (carfax.com run it's VIN #) Like someone said, make sure it wasn't wrecked. I just did a Kelly Blue book on it and it says suggested retail is $28,000 (little over.) You also can go to Edmunds.com and see what they are running for for the particular year. To me something is wrong with it and that's why the low price OR they just want to get rid of it. BUT to me by selling it that low they are losing money. Just doesn't sound right. Definately check to see if it's been in an accident because they lose a lot when they've been in one. I know, I had a car, got smashed in the back, $6,040 in damage and Sold it for $5500 this pass Spring. I lost about $5,000. Would of got less than $5000 if I had traded it in when I went and bought my Jeep.

Q: Seat Belt Chime - Turn Off - 2007 Jeep Commander?
The seat belt chime in my 2006 Jeep Commander is so annoying. I don't need a reminder to put my seat belt on. I appreciate that some folks do need it. Is there a programming option to disable it? It might not be so bad if the it would chime less frequently or at a lower volume. It's a 2006... not a 2007 Fly G - that worked! Thanks so much. I actually called the Jeep dealer here in Denver and they said it was impossible to turn it off. oklatom - thanks for nothing. I simply was asking how to turn off the seat belt reminder... not the light reminder or the key in ignition reminder. Like horn79, I simply wanted to drive about 100 feet without having to put on the seat belt. You can go back to insulting posters and being a jerk on these boards now.

A: It should explain how to disable it in your owner's manual. I do this all the time with my cars or I'd go insane. I will Google "disable seat belt reminder" with car type if I don't have a manual. I was looking for instructions for my Libery when I stumbled upon your question-- way atop the Google list. In case you don't have the owner's manual, try this-- instructions from an 05 Grand Cherokee. 95% chance they're identical. ----------------------- The following steps must occur within the first 60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON or START position. The manufacturer does not recommend deactivating the Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) 1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, and fasten the driver's seat belt. 2. Start the engine, and wait for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn off. 3. Within 60 seconds of starting teh vehicle, unbuckle and re-buckle the driver's seat belt at least three times, ending with the seat belt buckled, within 10 seconds. 4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming. The Enhanced Warning System (BeltAlert) can be recactivated by repeating this procedure.

Q: Resetting a Jeep Commander clicker?
I have a 2006 Jeep Commander and our clicker just stopped working so we put new batteries in it and I was wondering if their is a reset button or something that we need to do because it still is not working and we don't have the owner's manual Thank you.

A: If its still under factory warranty the key is covered. Sometime the circuit board in the key-less unit will loose a connection. I'm sorry to say that you will probably need a new key if it won't work with new batteries, unless the battery is installed improperly. In any case the best way to find out is to take it to you local Jeep dealer. They will be ale to test the key-less unit for signal and can get a replacement unit if it is bad. Good-luck

Q: Jeep Commander, Nissan Pathfinder or Honda Pilot?
I need some help here. I am a BIG car buff despite the fact that I am a girl :) But with these new cars, it is all unfamiliar territory for me - as I love my classics:) I am a mommy of 2 awesome little guys, one is almost 3 and just graduated to a booster seat, the other is 4 months old. I live in the mountains of Pennsylvania, so I need a 4wd. I am looking at 3 different (used) new cars to buy. The first being a 2006 Jeep Commander, the 2nd a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder SE Off-Road pkg, the 3rd a 2004 Honda Pilot. I LOVE both the looks of the Jeep and Nissan, looked at the reviews and both had a lot of shotty ones. The Pilot had the best reviews, but it looks like something for an older person. Please help! Does anyone have any opinions, input or own any of these? I do not want anything small. I drive a Pontiac Vibe now and no longer fit in it with my kids and all their stuff. Thanks! Lyn

A: I'd go for the Honda, it will last you longer. Rhyme not intentional. If not the Honda then the Nissan, the Japanese are great for build quality. Stay away from the Jeep. Cheap to buy, but there's a reason = cheap nasty build.
