Q: how to check transmission fluid levels 2006 Jeep Grand cherokee Laredo?
I was told by the dealer my Jeep has a sealed transmission, there is no dipstick just a cap that sits on top of the tube where you would normally add and check the fluid. How do i check the fluid levels short of taking it back to the dealer and pay them to do what I should be able to do at home. Is there any after market dipsticks i can buy?
A: Rely on the senser light

Q: How do you program the garage door opener on a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
I don't have an owners manual :( as I bought it used.
I have pressed them each individually down and on the dash display it shows a garage and an arrow pointing up, but I don't know how to program it to my "Intellicode" genie.
A: First, push and hold the first and third buttons of the Homelink system together for about 30-45 sec. The display on the dash will say "clearing channels".
Then, choosing any one of the three buttons of the system, press and hold it along with the the button of your garage door opener AT THE SAME TIME. Hold your opener up close to the Homelink buttons. The display will say something like "Channel 1 Training" or something to that effect. You will need to hold both button for about 10-20sec. until the display reads "Channel 1 Trained" (the channel number depends on what one of the three buttons of the system you are pressing)
This will conclude the programming.
Important note: If your opener is rather new, say in the last 5 years or so, you will likely have "rolling code" technology. This allows the system to send a different signal to your opener every time you press the button. This prevents theives from coming into neighborhoods and using a garage door opener they stole or found to open people garages and steal their stuff or break into their house.
If the Homelink system works one time after programming and only one time. you will have to check your garage door opener owners manual to see how to overide the rolling code technology if you want to use the car to open your door.
Q: How Much Would it cost to put a lift on my 2006 jeep grand cherokee laredo?
How much and how how many inch lift would look good do you think?
I Know the price depends on how high the lift is.. so help me out.
Im a girl, but I cannot stand having stock cars, I like to stand out
A: Pricing is an extremely hard question to answer.....
You are correct, the higher the lift, the higher the price for parts. Many installers will also charge you more because of the extra work needed.....
Depending on what you are planning to do with the Jeep, you don't need that large of a lift on it to 'stand out'.
The primary reasoning behind lifting a Jeep, is to be able to install a larger tire and wheel combination.
A decent 2 inch lift will start around $250US, and the prices will go up from there.
Q: does the 2006 jeep grand cherokee limited have ipod hookup?
i am looking to purchase a jeep in a few weeks, but i'm not sure if the nav system has a spot to hook an ipod up. thanks
A: Yes, and no.
The standard radio in the Limited should be a 6 disk CD changer with MP3 capabilities(formatted discs). However, MOPAR makes an ipod interface that goes thru the glovebox. Hook your ipod up to it and you can control your ipod with the radio controls. You wont have to fumble with your ipod. It is only for a true apple ipod, though. Only a Jeep with the standard single disk player has the auxillary jack on the front. Dont ask the dealer to swap the radios either. There is a built in amp in the better unit. Just get the glove box interface.
If the vehicle you are choosing has NAV, then it definately does not have the auxillary jack interface on the front of the unit.
Check with your dealers part department.
Q: New lift kit on 2006 jeep grand cherokee?
I'm looking to upgrade my stock rims and wheels on my 2006 jeep grand cherokee. Was curious what the max size tires i can go with if i keep the suspension stock. And what max size tire i can get with a 2 inch suspension spacer. any help would greatly be appreciated
A: Cherokee's need way more lift than the SWB CJ's and Wranglers. You're going to need closer to 5" of lift to run 33's and 6"+ to run 35's. 2" budget boost will get you enough room to run 31's, you could put 31's on there stock, but you will most likely get some rubbing.
Q: Does anyone know how to remove wipers from a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
I need to replace my wipers and I can't fgure out how to take the old ones off....arrrggg any help would be wonderful!
Already bought replacements
A: if you have not bought them yet, and you arent really looking to learn how to do them.
go to Advanced auto parts or somewhere like that, they will put them on for you for free its part of their job. but you have to ask
they also change batteries for free too
Q: How reliable are 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee's?
I'm interested in getting one but if you know anything helpful about any year cherokee it would be very helpful!
A: Dependability will vary depending on the engine size and if it is pre-owned, it will depend on how the previous owner maintained the vehicle.
Check out www.consumerreports.com for some reliability info on it. Then you can also check out www.motortrend.com, www.caranddriver.com and www.kbb.com.
Jeeps generally are pretty dependable, generally. Since it is a 06, it will have the 6 yr/60000 or 7/70000 mile powertrain warranty on it. (I forget which one 06 has). The warranty does have a $100 deductible for each repair needed under it.
But, you may want to consider going brand new, you might be amazed at how close the payments are. Best of luck!
Q: how to use on something on my 2006 jeep grand cherokee?
i just got a 4x4 grand cherokee yesterday but i dont know how to use the 4x4 feature.if anyone has one or knows how to turn on 4x4 please tell me.
A: Take it back to the dealer and have the salesperson show you how.
They are SUPPOSED to demonstate how to use all of the options when the deliver the vehicle to you.
Get your moneys worth out of them!
You could also check your owners manual,
instructions be in there.
Q: 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Question?
I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The front driver and passenger windows both have auto up and down windows. One daya few weeks ago, the driver's side "auto-up" feature wouldn't work for two days, then the passenger's "auto-up" feature would not work for two days, then they both started working again and have been working for two weeks straight.... Anyone have any ideas?
A: The water draining by the window rubber is temporarily shorting them until they dry.
Q: How do I find out if my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee has awd or rwd?
A: Why would they make a jeep that wasn't AWD?
Why have a jeep if it was like any other vehicle.
Q: 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Timing Belt replacement duration?
Hi there guy's and gal's. I have a 1998 I6 JGC with high miles but has been great, I'm looking into getting a 2006 V6 JGC and would like to know about the timing belt replacement time frame to change and the hassle involved in changing this out. I do hear or rather read some problems or quirks with the transmission on these newer models.
A: it does not have a timing belt, it has a chain. you do not have to replace it at a ceratin mileage. as far as the transmission, it has been used since 1999 model year with almost no problems.
